New Gas Line for Restaurant

Here is a gas line remodel for a restaurant. They had a 1” main gas line from the meter that tee’d off to 3/4” connections for a heater and 2 water heaters. We started by removing the 1” pipe and replacing it with a 1.5” pipe. We reconnected from the meter, installed a ball valve for testing and tenant use, and ran the pipe to the roof.

Once on the roof, we ran the new 1.5” pipe, installed supports along the way, connected to the 3/4” pipe to the heater, and routed it from the roof to the interior of the building.

Inside, we connected the existing 3/4” pipe to the water heaters, and continued to our vertical drop for the cooktop area. Along the way, we installed hangers every 3 feet.

The plans called for a 1.25” vertical pipe, which we installed inside the wall and routed out for cooktop connections during the final phase of plumbing.

All of our pipes were pressure tested at 15 psi, painted, labeled, and inspected.

First phase: underground plumbing

Second phase: rough-in plumbing
