Hi friends, welcome back to Happi Plumbing Channel.
We are going to share a little money-saving plumbing trick with you! Learn how to DIY this repair, and you could save yourself $300! So grab a seat, and pay attention! Let’s get started!
How to Fix a Shower That Won’t Stop Dripping? Our customer had a shower that just wouldn’t stop dripping. Drip, drip, drip… all day and all night! The constant dripping was driving them crazy and even keeping them awake at night.
Finally, they gave Happi Plumbing a call and asked us to fix the problem.

Step 1: Shut Off the Water Supply
First, turn off the main water supply to the house.
Step 2: Release the Water Pressure
Open the faucet to drain any remaining water and release the pressure in the pipes.

Step 3: Remove the Shower Handle and Components
Carefully remove the shower handle, temperature limit stop, and retaining clip, one by one.
Here’s an important tip! Make sure you use the correct Allen wrench for your Moen shower handle. A lot of DIYers end up stripping the set screw, and trust me, that can turn a simple repair into a real headache! And don’t forget to remove the retaining clip!
Some people try to pull out the cartridge without removing the clip first. They end up damaging the entire valve body.
That’s definitely something you want to avoid!

Step 4: Remove the Old Cartridge
Use a Moen-compatible cartridge puller to carefully remove the old cartridge.
Step 5: Clean and Install the Cartridge
Clean the inside of the valve body, apply some plumber’s silicone grease where appropriate, and install the replacement cartridge.
Make sure the retaining clip is securely back in place.

Step 6: Put Everything Back Together
Reinstall the trim plate, temperature limit stop, and shower handle.
Final Step: Turn the Water Back On and Test!
Slowly turn the main water supply back on.
Check for leaks and make sure the water temperature is working properly.
And guess what? No more dripping! No more sleepless nights! Problem solved! Our customer can finally enjoy some peace and quiet again.
And of course, they’re VERY HAPPI!
